SAVE THE HORSES DEMONSTRATION IN CARSON CITY

A demonstration is scheduled for Friday, September 14 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM in front of the Nevada State Legislature at 401 South Carson Street in Carson City, NV. This demonstration is in response to the Nevada Department of Agriculture reporting to the media that the department is trapping historic Virginia Range horses and shipping them off to the livestock sale in Fallon. The Fallon sales are frequented by kill buyers.

Signs will be provided by the Wild Horse Preservation League.

Participants are requested to assemble at 10:30 on the southwest corner of Carson Street and Fourth Street so that this event can be properly organized, signs distributed and so that everyone will understand the rules that apply to public demonstrations. Alliance activities have always complied with state and local regulations and we want to keep all of these events orderly and informative.

For additional information please contact Bonnie Matton Email, 775-220-6806

IF YOU CAN'T MAKE THE DEMONSTRATION
HERE ARE SOME OTHER THINGS THAT YOU CAN DO.

Here are actions that you can take to protect the Virginia Range horses. Please remember that these horses fall under the jurisdiction of the Nevada Department of Agriculture and Governor Brian Sandoval. Here is contact information. You are encouraged to express your opinion in this matter. If you call, try to speak with someone in authority. Let's fix this business before more horses go to the kill buyers and we experience another tourism boycott!

      • Governor Brian Sandoval

        702-486-2500 (Las Vegas office)

The Virginia Range horses are not protected by any federal statute. The involved wild horse groups are just about all that stands between them and the kill buyers. Funds are always needed to protect these horses and to find homes and sanctuary opportunities for those that have been taken off the range.

Every contribution counts. The groups are all staffed by volunteers so the money donated actually goes to pay the expenses for these horses. Please help!
