THE OPPOSING OPINION

The following opinion was composed by Howard Simkins, and was sent by email to Jill Starr of Lifesavers on February 23. It was sent in response to the report of additional wild horse shootings in Utah.

Webmaster's note:

This message is indicative of the prejudices, ignorance and lawless attitudes among some of the anti-wild horse forces on the range.

I would like to applaud what those men did in shooting the wild horses. If the BLM and other government agencies are not going to regulate the horses like they say they will and stop bowing to liberal groups such as yourself, then I see no other recourse. People are living their lives off the land in the means of livestock. It is no different than having pest such as mice, rats and cockroaches invade your home and ruin what you have worked hard to achieve. I truly hope they get off with little or no punishment.
