Wild Horses to be Sold on/around January 15th, 2005

BLM is offering older horses (those above the "popular" adoption age but below age ten) at facilities and some satellite adoptions. These animals will be subject to standard adoption rules and protections.

While it may be assumed that BLM is gearing up to dispose of some 8,000+ wild horses and burros, they have not completed either the planning or paperwork required as of 1/13/05, nor are they likely to do so in the near future.

While this widely circulated date is incorrect, one should not conclude that the BLM's intentions have changed.
