Issue: Safety and appropriateness of the Spring Creek roundup (Colorado)

A group of experienced horse advocates including film director James Kleinert is taking BLM head-on challenging the scientific validity of the upcoming round up of the Spring Creek Herd in Disappointment Valley, Colorado. A lawsuit has been filed with the Federal Court in Denver.

There have also been concerns regarding what appears to have been negligent preparation of the gather site and route presented in a video posted to
YouTube that illustrates a number of natural and man made hazards associated with this gather.
There have been growing concerns about the levels of priority that BLM has been giving to safety at roundups. Safety will be the subject of a "Wild Horse Roundtable" segment aired on
The Last Wild Place on Sunday, October 8th.
